Agile Talks #6 of 2018

Agile Talks wants to bring together people who are passionate about software development and agile methods.

We will have two talks of maximum 30 minutes and after that two Open Space slots for around one hours.

The event ends with a group retrospective and with some conclusions from the participants.

Agile Talks is a great opportunity to both learn from other people's experiences and discuss your own topics during the Open Space.

First Talk: George Nicolaescu - "The Traps of Virtual Teams". Since the globalization and technology outbreak most of our work is performed in a virtual environment and in virtual teams. Working with virtual teams in recent years, I want to share with you some of our experiences, some of them being funny, others being less pleasant - experiences from which we learned a few things and from which we still continue to learn. I can say we have identified a few traps of the virtual environment, which I will expose to you.  I find this topic very important for an efficient activity of each of us and of a team. Being aware of the virtual work traps will positively impact  your results whether you work with a colleague in the same office or in an office located thousands of miles away, like LA, let’s say. I want to hear your experiences and your thoughts also.

George Nicolaescu, Head of Research and Development – Cinema Intelligence, passionate about management; 4 years management experience in software development

Second Talk:  Mihnea Carlogea -"A practical look into Agile vs V-Cycle testing methodologies." As you all know the two most common software development methodologies, both with their unique particularities that sets them apart one from the other. This talk will present a practical view of the processes that back up these methodologies along with what type of approach I found to be most rewording in either cases. I invite all of you to an open discussion on which of these would suit you best.

Mihnea Carlogea is the Quality Assurance Manager at Cinema Intelligence. With 5 years’ experience in software development, he is an ambitious person with a relentless pursuit of learning new and better ways of performing.

If you want to sponsor Agile Talks, please get in touch. Participants love having some drinks and some food in the evening so that can discuss the current burning matters with more energy.
