Agile Talks #14

Agile Talks wants to bring together people who are passionate about software development and agile methods.

We will have two talks of maximum 30 minutes and after that two Open Space slots for around one hours.

The event ends with a group retrospective and with some conclusions from the participants.

Agile Talks is a great opportunity to both learn from other people's experiences and discuss your own topics during the Open Space.

First Talk: Alexandru Cicortas - "Management approach in the Agile context". The way Agile is adopted in companies can be influenced by many factors. One such important factor, possibly the decisive one, is the management/leadership of the company and the approach it has towards Agile. During my presentation, I would highlight some important aspects which reflect the way of doing and understanding of a company’s management which is doing software development in an Agile way.

Alexandru has over 24 years of combined experience in SW and HW Engineering R&D activities in management and technical field for Telecommunications, Semiconductors and Automotive domains. He held several global leadership roles driving engineering organizations to produce outstanding world class results with regard to end customer experience, schedule predictability, product quality and improved productivity. Throughout the years, he did executive consultancy for senior management of different companies on various subjects of SW and HW R&D topics related to technology evaluations, company mergers and acquisitions, internal re-organization, subcontracting / outsourcing, operations and costs optimization, etc.

Second Talk: Stefan Juglea - "The Scrum Master's Role". If you are working in technology it's impossible that you're not at lease vaguely familiar with Agile concept. These days, most of the tech companies are trying do adopt an Agile Mindset, and even banking or clothing companies like H&M or Zara are adopting Agile for creating new products. For sure, most common way to adapt to an Agile Mindset is Scrum, but many teams and companies are failing to have a successful transition to SCRUM. In my opinion, one of the main reasons of this failure is lack understanding of the Scrum Master role, and also lack of understanding the independence needed by the SCRUM team, the independence that will push them to self-organize.

Stefan Juglea is Scrum Master at Continental and if you want to learn more about the Scrum Master Role, why within the SCRUM Team there should be no boss, and hits in how to build your SCRUM team structure to have a grater outcome, please join him on 29th of January the Agile Talks Session hosted by Continental.

If you want to sponsor Agile Talks, please get in touch. Participants love having some drinks and some food in the evening so that can discuss the current burning matters with more energy.
