Agile Talks #12

Agile Talks wants to bring together people who are passionate about software development and agile methods.

We will have two talks of maximum 30 minutes and after that two Open Space slots for around one hours.

The event ends with a group retrospective and with some conclusions from the participants.

Agile Talks is a great opportunity to both learn from other people's experiences and discuss your own topics during the Open Space.

First Talk: Cristina Serban - The path to the Mecca in Testing. Importance of an agile mindset across organization and how to create a test automation framework with DSL and BDD. I will share the way we have set up an agile testing framework around 7 agile teams with very few dedicated testers and the importance of an aligned “mindset” of all organization (top-down and across teams) on the objective of creating an effective agile environment. The test automation framework and regression strategy in agile is another topic I will touch, how important in to “start with the end in mind”, from planning a user story until implementing. I will dive in a bit into how we can apply TDD, BDD, CI, and CD.
Video intro:
Cristina Serban – 10 years experience in Software Testing, part of multiple projects in medical domain, security and (lately) CRM. Is passionate about finding new ways to improve the strategies and frameworks in order to make them more robust and easy to work with.

Second Talk: Lorant Kozma - "A Software Developer's Journey From Waterfall To Agile". I will try to share some of the experiences and discoveries within my journey from Waterfall to Agile, a journey in which I've tried and still trying to be agile and not to "do" Agile. Along the road I've found out that moving to an agile approach does not solve all software development problems, but it helps to acknowledge and tackle them faster.
Video intro:
Kozma Lorant - Software Developer at Oce Software Romania, with 13 years of experience in Software Development, both in a pure Waterfall environment and also on a project that tries to apply Agile Methodologies and principles.

If you want to sponsor Agile Talks, please get in touch. Participants love having some drinks and some food in the evening so that can discuss the current burning matters with more energy.
